In today’s world Software is ubiquitous and thus the lifeblood of Oregon’s economy. Computers and software are integrated into almost everything we do, yet we take them for granted. Almost all effective organizations, public and private, are powered by sophisticated software from insurance, banking, utilities and government to phones, multimedia and other consumer and entertainment products. In fact, an increasing number of organizations derive their competitive edge from software, whether it is installed on a PC, embedded in hardware devices, or served as online content for worldwide audiences. Software’s characteristics have made it the single most important enabler for expressing the unique characteristics associated with organizations of all kinds.
TechStart is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to develop and support programs that enhance the abilities and interest of K-12 teachers and students in information technology, computer science, and engineering.
TechStart has three core strategies:
1. Inspire K-12 students to pursue opportunities in high tech.
2. Provide professional development and support to Oregon information technology, computer science, and engineering educators.
3. Engage the Tech industry in the process.
In so doing TechStart supports several organizations with the same goals. Each organization needs support both monetary and, of course, volunteers. Here are the groups that TechStart supports:

Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP)
George Fox High School Programing Contest
