POSITION OVERVIEW
OpenSesame is offering paid summer internship positions for qualified students. Participants in this structured and challenging program will join one of our internal teams to focus on specific projects and advancing initiatives within that department. In addition, the internship participants have the opportunity to work closely with other departments as well as significant interaction with our Founders/Leadership team.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Start date: 18 June 2024 (Tuesday)
End date: 16 August 2024 (Friday)
The program requires a commitment to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 7 ½ weeks with one week to use as vacation time. Some of your vacation time is paid!
Compensation: $17/hour.
Throughout the internship term, all participants will engage in a variety of B2B activities including but not limited to: branding initiatives, exposure to the lead generation process and marketing automation platforms, content creation, sales process, and tech support process. Interns will have the opportunity to work on significant projects within the OpenSesame organization which can contribute to your portfolio of accomplishments for the future.
You will work directly with the OpenSesame team of highly creative and hard-charging entrepreneurs. You will also be paired with a mentor from OpenSesame’s team at the beginning of the summer who will partner with you in setting and achieving your personal development goals.
As a summer intern at OpenSesame, you will be expected to take training courses, participate in scheduled intern program events such as learning opportunities, networking events, community service, and book club, as well as participate in an intern-led group project.

Finance - Keeps the company humming by collecting money from customers, paying our vendors and employees, and generating financial reports for the other departments to help them make decisions.
Responsibilities include: Reconciling numbers between various systems and helping streamline accounting processes. Expert Excel skills, technological savvy, understanding of accounting, and how numbers come together for financial statements required.
Curation - Maintains the breadth, depth, and quality of the OpenSesame catalog, and selects the right courses to meet our customers’ diverse training needs.
Responsibilities include: Evaluating and updating catalog courses, analyzing customer feedback to improve recommendations, improving internal resources and documentation, assisting with customer curation requests, and supporting efforts to improve course quality. Proficiency in Google Sheets or similar spreadsheet software required.
Exclusive Content - The OpenSesame Exclusive Content team helps add courses to our catalog that are exclusively available from OpenSesame. We work with new and current OpenSesame publishers to create compelling video-based courses with our innovative eLearning authoring tool.
Responsibilities include: supporting the eLearning Production team by helping to prepare videos and other content for publishing, building spreadsheets to capture course data for import, reviewing courses for accuracy, large-scale file management, and writing microcopy. We use Asana to track project tasks and deadlines and spend much of the day in Google Workspace, and our proprietary authoring tool and asset management system.
Partnerships - Establishes new channels of businesses by collaborating and building strategic partnerships with both established and innovative businesses across HR and eLearning industries including Learning Management Systems (LMS), system integrators, and consultants.
Responsibilities include: developing and supporting partner programs, database management, providing analytical assistance, and improving internal resources and documentation. Tech-savvy, proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, attention to detail, and knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot, or similar systems, are a plus but not required.
Sales - Strives to fully understand potential customers’ training challenges and collaborate with them to outline and execute a solution. Responsibilities include: Analyzing competitor marketing and sales materials for incorporation into internal sales training materials. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus and Google Apps is required.
Sales Development - Is responsible for the early stages of the sales cycle. The team’s objective is to qualify leads through engagement across many channels. Sales Development representatives accomplish this by uncovering unmet needs, understanding their leads, and creating interest for OpenSesame.
Responsibilities: Facilitate and optimize sales outreach, analyze strategy and sales development best practices, maintain performance reports, maintain data hygiene , create data visualizations, audit processes and procedures, identify inventive solutions to improve conversion ratios.
Sales Operations - Strives to empower sales and customer success teams by creating an ecosystem of scalable, measurable, and repeatable processes, enhancing data quality, and data integrity in all systems used. Sales Operations works with all aspects of the business. We assist front-line sales Account Executives and Customer Success Managers, front-line Sales Managers, Sales leadership, Order Fulfillment team, Partner team, Business Intelligence team, and the Finance team.
Responsibilities include process creation, documentation and communication, error resolution, order management verification, and system migrations, data analysis, weekly and quarterly sales training, and tools for self-reflection and development through data.
Sales Enablement - Strives to empower sales and customer success teams by creating an ecosystem of knowledge. Sales Enablement works to ensure all aspects of customer and partner-facing employees have the skills, knowledge, and resources to be efficient. We assist front-line sales Sales Development Reps, Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Strategic Partner Managers, and front-line Sales Managers.
Responsibilities include process course creation, instructional design, process documentation, new hire onboarding, and communication of new and updated products, processes, and best practices.
Customer Success - Strives to fully understand potential customers’ training challenges and collaborate with them to outline and execute a solution. Customer Success, a team within Sales, works directly with existing customers to maintain a continued relationship and help them achieve and expand their training goals.
Responsibilities include data analysis for Customer Success projects, drafting and reviewing Customer Success standard operating procedures, updating and maintaining CSM onboarding materials, and data cleanup in CSM tools, such as Salesforce and Gainsight. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus and Google Apps is required.
Marketing - Develops impactful storytelling and branding in campaigns to connect with our target audience, fostering business growth.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the product marketing team on launch planning and competitive research, working with the growth team on lead generation strategies, and mastering the skills needed to manage a high-performing website. This position not only allows you to build a portfolio showcasing your impactful projects but also provides the opportunity to learn the dynamics of a closely-knit, effective go-to-market team. We're looking for the perfect blend of right brain and left brain skills -- communication, analytics, and project management.
Product - Develops the OpenSesame product roadmap and delivers high-value products and features for our customers. We define, design, launch, and support the OpenSesame platform for learning administrators, individual learners, and elearning publishers. Using agile software development methodologies, we collaborate with Engineering to make bold new learning ideas into SaaS solutions.
Responsibilities include: supporting Product Managers in the successful delivery and launch of products, participating in Agile ceremonies, examining direct user feedback, qualitative research, and quantitative data to create actionable insights, assisting in usability testing, writing requirements and documentation, QA. UI/UX work is possible for interns with prior UI/UX experience and familiarity with design tools.
